It was a star-filled night when ABC’s Desperate Housewives actor Ricardo Chavira recently dropped in for the 3rd annual Khaki & Plaid gala. The evening benefited Hope for the Future which raises funds to help disadvantaged children in the Archdiocese of San Antonio receive a Catholic education. San Antonio’s Archbishop Gustavo Garcia-Siller gave the opening prayer for the event held at the Vistas at Valero.

Neiman Marcus, Hugo Boss, and Men’s Health magazine hosted a Cocktails and Conversation Event at the Neiman Marcus San Antonio store. Brian Boye, Fashion Director for Men’s Health interviewed Miles Austin, the stylish wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys covering topics from fashion favorites to sports. After the interview, Austin stayed in-store and took photographs with customers and fans in attendance. The event was one of several in which Hugo Boss has partnered with Neiman Marcus in order to promote the launch of their product in stores across the country. We can’t wait until the next event at Neiman Marcus.

It’s an event that draws several hundred of Austin’s most avid contemporary art collectors… combining one-of-a-kind art with a hint of mystery. The 13th annual 5X7 gala, benefitting the exhibition and educational programs of AMOA/Arthouse, was kicked into high gear with its SPLURGE party where attendees received a sneak peak of the art, as well as a chance for one of the 1,000-plus 5X7 inch paintings donated by over 650 established and emerging artists from Texas and beyond. When the American Institute of Architects (AIA) plans the party, however, transforming an old industrial space south of downtown into a chic venue for a Beaux Arts Ball is something that even imagionationally-challenged minds can appreciate. This spring, the AIA held their Beaux Arts Ball gala in the Cleary Zimmermann Warehouse on South Flores Street in San Antonio. Prior to its renewed use as the headquarters for one of San Antonio’s leading MEP engineering firms, the warehouse was a location that San Antonio farmers used to frequently purchase tractors and farming equipment.

The 12th annual Texas Film Hall of Fame Awards, which kicks off Austin’s Annual SXSW Film, Music and Interactive Festival. This year’s event, held downtown Austin for the first time at the ACL Moody Theatre, featured a star-studded line up of celebrities from Texas and beyond.
